Smile God Loves You

In the late 70s it was common to see bumper stickers that read “Smile God loves you!” This led someone to come out with a more cynical one that read, “God loves you! But don’t let it go to your head!”

Some people actually think that is a good advice; I guess, mostly for fear that if it did go to your head you’d become too confident, secure, and proud... maybe to excuse your lack of effort to better yourself or to live to please God and do the right thing…              

In this talk pastor Mark contends - of course you should "let it go to your head" and heart!” If the all-powerful and holy creator of the universe loves you and it doesn’t go to your head, you just haven’t understood the most humbling, empowering, and joy filled reality that you can ever grasp.

If, in Christ, the God of the universe really loves, accepts, forgives... and even actually likes you, that ought to put everything else into perspective. It should make you laugh and cry with great joy; It should cause you to sing, and obey him, to love others like He loves, accepts and forgives you. If it doesn't go to your head than you haven't grasped the Good New (Gospel).
